News and Thoughts from Brooke

Wow! Over forty years have gone by but last weekend we were all together again. Yes....we jammed, we talked, we jammed some more, then we talked some more...then jammed.............Those present were: Bobby O'Day-bass, Ray Brokamp-keyboards, Allan Fowler-sax and guitar, Dale Rorer-sax, Ed Dove-sax, Gary Ellinger-drums, Cathy Dove-congas and you name it percussion, Sterling Spell-guitar/vocals, and me-just tryin' to keep up! As Allan said "We even got in the old groove on one or two songs". Remember, we haven't played together or practiced in years! Some of the guys haven't touched their instruments in years? Didn't matter......we had a ball. A special thanks to Robbie (The Calypso Nut) for having the vision to bring this together one more time! Also we remember Joe Sembly-vocalist and Jimmie Slebzak-sax who couldn't be with us because they have passed on. I'll bet they were both listening from on high! Well, as I said before, I will post pictures and video again as soon as Robbie can get a few moments to show me how to manipulate the web site pages. hint.....never use a working musician as your webmaster. You can never stop them long enough to get any work out of them. 2nd hint....use a working musician as you webmaster (if he's your brother ) cause you can't beat the price! Peace to all who are taking the time to reminisce the old days but good days!

Wishing all who visit this site the very best in the coming year. 2008 was a year of change for me......much change indeed. I look forward to 2009 with great hope and anticipation for the best year ever! My crystal ball says that love and laughter, happiness and joy, but most of all peace and serenity will abound this year! Sounds like a plan and a prayer...thus mine for you! An old friend of mine, Ed Dove, uses a salutation in almost every communication he sends out. " Keep the music Alive". I agree.....and add this as well "Keep the love Alive". Whew....sounds like another song on the horizon, huh?......Peace and best wishes for a fantastic 2009!

First let me thank all of those who have purchased a copy of "Trinity". Sales have been amazing since we started offering the CD on line through CD Baby. I really thought I would have my second (really my first) CD finished by the end of this year. Well, as we all know, life gets in the way sometimes but I will set a new deadline for 2009 and try my best to stay on schedule. The second CD is so, so different from the first. While the first was all original gospel music, the second is a collection of songs that I have written over many years. Lots of stuff about love and loss and just real life experiences. I am not performing any more (too old) so I will have time to record my life's work. Really something I've wanted to do for as long as I can remember. Enough for now.....thanks again to all who have visited and in one way or another are re-connecting to a time in our lives when we could climb mountains and somehow know beforehand that we'd make it to the top. We grew up in a fantastic era......lots of love and plenty of good old Rock "n" Roll. Music has been a major part of my life and, as I'm finding out, a major part of yours as well. Man!!!! It's been a good ride! More later.

Herod couldn't kill Him, The Pharisees couldn't confuse Him, and The people couldn't hold Him!
Nero couldn't crush Him, Hitler couldn't silence Him,
The New Age can't replace Him, and "Oprah" can't explain Him away!



He is light, love, longevity, and Lord.
He is goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, and God.
He is Holy, Righteous, mighty, powerful, and pure.



His ways are right,
His word is eternal,
His will is unchanging, and His mind is on me.
He is my Savior,
He is my guide, and He is my peace!
He is my Joy,
He is my comfort,
He is my Lord, and He rules my life!



I serve Him because His bond is love,
His burden is light, and His goal for me is abundant life.

I follow Him because He is the wisdom of the wise,
the power of the powerful,
the ancient of days, the ruler of rulers, the leader of leaders, the overseer of the overcomers, and is to come. And if that seems impressive to you, try this for size.



His goal is a relationship with ME!
He will never leave me,
never forsake me,
never mislead me,
never forget me,
never overlook me and
never cancel my appointment in His appointment book!



When I fall, He lifts me up!
When I fail, He forgives!
When I am weak, He is strong!
When I am lost, He is the way!
When I am afraid, He is my courage!
When I stumble, He steadies me!
When I am hurt, He heals me!
When I am broken, He mends me!
When I am blind, He leads me!
When I am hungry, He feeds me!
When I face trials, He is with me!
When I face persecution, He shields me!
When I face problems, He comforts me!
When I face loss, He provides for me!
When I face Death, He carries me Home!



He is everything for everybody everywhere, every time, and every way.

He is God, He is faithful. I am His, and He is mine!

My Father in heaven can whip the father of this world.
So, if you're wondering why I feel so secure, understand this...

He said it and that settles it.
God is in control, I am on His side,
and that means all is well with my soul.
